Description

Ced 106c is classified as interstellar matter and is part of the vast Vela Supernova Remnant formed about 11,000 years ago in the aftermath of a Type II Supernova.
It is about 800 light years away with an apparent magnitude of 6.66 and is about 27 by 21 arcminutes in size. 
This is the top half of a 4 panel mosaic, which is work a in progress, but the run of hot days and clear steady nights has ended for now.
